Happy Birthday to my A-bug!

Where does the time go? My baby girl is turning 5 yrs. old today. It seems like just yesterday that we were on a cruise ship with my family a few other friends and I had a question in my mind that I may be pregnant and I was not going to be able to buy a pregnancy test for 2 days, so Pete and I walked to to the infirmary and they had them for the low price of $30.00! Pete said, "let's just wait!" There was no way.....I HAD to find out right then.  It was positive and we told everyone at dinner that night. I could not hold that in! 

Here we are 5 years later and you know what that means.....KINDERGARTEN! 

We love our little A-bug. Kids are so fun. They make life so exciting! She keeps us laughing and you never know what is going to come out of her mouth! She is such a great little sis to Hope and so understanding with her. Of course, she has our entire weekend planned out and even has next year's birthday decided on what she wants to do. We are so thankful for our precious Addie!

My Hopie is totally obsessed with Miss Patty Cake (from her DVD's) and has been since she was about 18 months old. When she was about 2 and a half, I took her a couple of hours away to a show she was doing and we waited in a long line to get a picture with her! We know ALL of her songs and yes, everyday is a Patty Cake praise day!! Anyways......on Monday night, my mother was having a dinner party and I was planning on going because  a friend of mine was going to be there from AR that I had not seen in almost 7 years. My mom called me on Monday and said I HAD to bring the girls over because Miss Patty Cake was going to be there! Well, she was and she pretty much did a private (mini) show for my girls. It was so cute, she would start singing then let Hope finish her song! Addie loves her as well, but she is not quite as obsessed as Hope was with her! Everyday this week, the girls have said, "we love the REAL Miss Patty Cake!"

KOOZA......

This show was AMAZING.....Cirque du Soleil sure does find some talented people for their shows.  The contortionist were off the hook and it made my body hurt just watching them! My friend Christy, gave Jen and I tickets to the show here in Atlanta and we had a great time together!  We were all a nervous wreck during those stunts especially the tight rope. We also got such a kick out of the men's costumes!  Fun times...hopefully we can see another one next year. Thanks Christy. I loved it:)

Cousin Love......

My cousin and her mom that live in NC came in town this weekend to visit my other cousin, Linds, that lives here (the newlywed.)

We met for ice cream last night and I was "trying" to have a conversation with them, so I was just letting my girls do whatever (that may come as a shock to some of you), so they got a hold of my camera.....they were quiet for a few minutes.  Here is what came up when I downloaded them today................It was good to chat with the cousins (they did give me a few style tips!!!)

Nothing says i love u like.....coffee!

At least at our house that is the case! So, being the good wife that I am, I was trying to think of something that Pete would just love and make him feel special on his birthday, which was the day after Christmas!  Everyone knows about his coffee obsession, so a few months ago we were at my sister's house and she fixed him a great shot of espresso. We tried several times to repeat that at Starbucks but it just never tasted the same, so I decided to surprise him with his own "Nespresso" machine. He loves it of course, but he's convinced that I bought it for myself!! I've just had a good time making lattes, cappuccinos, and experimenting with the machine. Who needs Starbucks now?  Just come to our house for a yummy hot beverage.  I guess I need to work on the iced drinks for the summer. Oh, did I mention that we now have some toffee nut syrup? Just pick your flavor!

Pray for baby Harper

I put the little "praying for Harper" button on my blog today.

I do not know Kelly and her sweet baby Harper, but we have several mutual friends that went to college together in AR. Harper is very sick and in the hospital in Tulsa. Please take a minute and pray for healing of this sweet baby. She was born last week and her mommy has not even been able to hold her yet. Check out Kelly's blog for updates.

oh, where do I even start back?

I have been such a blog slacker! I kept thinking all during the Christmas craziness that I would get back to my blog when it all ended then I got even more slack...AND bought the girls a puppy!! Yes, he is sleeping through the night! And YES, we love him! It's been fun having him around the house. The house training is going great and he is now an official Hixson! He walks Hopie to the bus every morning and has even taken off chasing the bus (of course only when it is like 20 degrees outside)

I needed something interesting to discuss here on my blog since it's been a while.....ON TO PETE'S HAIR!
So, last week, Pete tells me that his hair is out of control and he was wanting a "change" (he's going to kill me for discussing his hair on my blog)  so we are in the kitchen and he  messes his hair all up and says he wants to go short for a while and have more of a "clean look."  Yes, it was that long....it just looked different since he wears it all on his forehead. So here is the new look....... I love it...I'll try to snap another picture of him......
He likes it, but I have a feeling this will be an ever changing hairstyle!  He couldn't believe how cold his head was after he first got it cut!  Guys are so funny about their hair:)

I have been letting Buster stay in our downstairs bathroom some when we are gone for a very long time during the day and this is what I came home to today.............
I guess it could be worse!  Well, we are all freezing here in HOTlanta and wishing it would just SNOW if it's going to be this cold!   I'm outta here.....more later......
