Hola Friends!

We arrived in sunny Mexico last Saturday after leaving the lovely 20 degree temps in Atlanta! Our family had a blast together! We loved the resort we were at and basically did a whole lot of nothing all week. I'm still sorting through all my pictures I took and waiting on the ones that we had taken professionally while we were gone.  I hope everyone had a great holiday!!

Gone......

MEXICO....here we come! I hope everyone has a fabulous Thanksgiving! We have so much to be thankful for!  I'm signing off for now! See you all in about 8 days!

*  Seeing Hope back on the horse after 2 years even in the freezing cold loving it and not wanting to get off!

*  my hot coffee still being delivered to me each morning from my hubby!

We can do it!

We are leaving for sunny Mexico in just a few days to spend Thanksgiving with my family! Pete and I decided to leave behind a few things for a "real" vacation. We both have an Iphone addiction. We are shutting them down and leaving them at home.   I'm already getting a twitch. Next, the computers are staying here too! Oh my goodness. I'm already feeling a withdrawal.  We can do it:)

I guess you could call it a " technology fast!"  I'm sure we will find lots of other things to do:)

Fake tree vs Real tree

He (my dear hubby)WON again. We have this discussion/debate/argument every year. We had it yesterday. 

He loves the entire experience of a real Christmas tree. Hot Cider, finding the perfect tree, tying it on the top of the Yukon, photos of the tree on top of the car, and awwwww the best part....the SMELL!  and to top it all off, after Christmas, we can set it out for the trash company to pick it up!

I tried to tell him that we can have the same experience with a fake tree and we can even buy lots of yummy smelling candles that smell just like that tree!  

He talked me out of it again. I'm excited now. We have to wait until after Thanksgiving though.

4 days!

OH, I'm counting the days until the release of this.....

My sister was trying to convince me today to go to the midnight showing on Thursday! I think I can wait a few more hours after that for Friday evening. ........

Sundays are always crazy around here and today we decided to make it a little crazier! After church, we had a luncheon we helped out with then we thought it would be fun to take the girls to the movies to see Madagascar 2. First of all, I could not believe how packed the theater was! Our usual routine is church, lunch, home, rest, community group, home, dinner, then bed time! So, you catch my drift.......we hardly ever go anywhere on Sundays unless it's church or a restaurant! The movie was super cute by the way. After that, we stopped at the mall for Starbucks and the kids were all jacked up on sugar by the time we got to our community group.

One our way  to our group, Pete was looking over his notes (while driving) and Addie says from the backseat, "Shouldn't you be driving and NOT reading?"  Pete responds to her "Yes, Addie  you are right!" Then she says, "Daddy, I'm GIVING YOU A TRAFFIC VIOLATION!" Thanks Addie for saving us from an accident!

Seriously. She is 4.  

We're all in this TOGETHER!

We just can't get enough of High School Musical in our house! Well, maybe Pete can! He was away Friday and Saturday golfing with his "buddies," so the girls and I went to the Fox to see HSM2. It was just the cutest. We loved every minute of it! 

Thursday change

No 13 list or thankful list from me today!! Although, I am very thankful for so many things and I could come up with lots of 13 lists today.....other things are on the agenda and I'm running late as usual. I try. At least I can say that I made really healthy whole wheat muffins this morning!

Our family loves Waffle House! Yes, yet another post discussing food/restaurants! Maybe one day I will actually post a recipe. Or maybe not! Anyway, we were on our way for breakfast Saturday morning @ Waffle House until I had this great idea to hit up the Golden Corral all you can eat b-fast buffet! BAD IDEA!  First of all, there were about 16,000 people there and this incredible stench. We still ate. Well, I took about 3 bites. I really can't explain it, but the place gave me chills. NOT Good.  Anyways, We wanted to spend some time outside so we headed over to Kennesaw Mountain. 

Fall Weather. Beautiful Leaves. 2 cute blondes. 1 good-lookin husband.......perfect day....that is after the G.C. Next time.....Waffle house.

Suggestions please!

Most Friday nights, we have a date night! Sometimes it's just a simple dinner at Pete's favorite, The Varsity and a movie, or my favorite....sushi, and other times we try out good  new (or new to us) places in and around Atlanta. Well, there are SO many places to pick from. 

We love: Seasons 52, PF Changs, Stoney River, Rosa Mexicano, Mary Mac's, Ru Sans, Blue Fin, La Parilla , McKendricks, and Nuevo Laredo! Just to name a few:) So, tonight, it's my turn to decide what we are going to do, where we are going and all that! Well, I just don't know! I need some suggestions...... There are so many places to pick from!!

PTA meeting + 500 parents jammed into the  cafeteria + 500 parents with video cameras= our Thursday night, but she was oh so darling up there singing!

We were about to say the pledge and here they are (cody and pete) cutting up AGAIN. They were trying to get us in trouble! I think last night made our friends the Deese's decided to wait several more years before having children!

I ran into one of the dad's at the school and I said hello to him....he just looked at me for a minute and said "oh, I didn't recognize you then he paused.....you look different. 

I was thinking to myself...maybe it's because I have on make-up, my hair fixed and not wearing my work-out clothes or a hat! Anyhoo.......

1.  Hope loves her glasses.....i love that. 

2.  Sunny skies and temperatures in the 70's this week.

3.  We went to bed at 9:30 last night!

Then WHO are they voting for?

Today, I took both of the girls with me to vote!! We waited in line for 7 minutes. YAY!

I had been telling them what we were doing and who we were voting for.  Once we made it into the cafeteria where we were to cast our ballots, Addie (in her very loud voice) says "Mama, are all these people voting for McCain?" And I quietly said, "I don't know, honey, who they are voting for." Then she says in her loud tone again for all to hear "Well then who would they vote for?" 

Oh, the joys of children! They keep me smiling:)

Today is a special day!

Happy Birthday MOM! 

Here are my top 10 reasons she is wonderful:

1.  She loves to have FUN!

2.  She loves the Lord!

3.  She is a fantastic mimommy to my girls!

4. She is always thinking of other people.

5.  She answers my 10,0000 phone calls every day!

6.  She likes to FISH and has taught Addie the same.

7.  She can throw a darn good dance party on the beach!!

8.  She is great at juggling my dad's crazy schedule.

9.  She can spend the day at the race track then the next at the spa!

10.  She's the BEST pastor's wife.

Let the good times roll.......

We enjoyed the festivities for the day starting early at Addie's preschool for a party. YES, Pete and I wore our costumes the entire day and YES we were the only parents dressed up!! It's the only day of the year that you can usually blend in with other people while being dressed up silly...so I thought!  We got over that quickly and met some friends for lunch at our local Mexican restaurant then we headed home to get dinner ready for some friends to join us for the evening of trick or treating!! Now, I'm trying to figure out how to get rid of all the candy in my house OR at least out of SIGHT!!

Until then......my man re-living the 70's for the evening OR should I say the entire day?  He is still not over the fact that we were the ONLY parents that were dressed up at our daughter's preschool party, but we had FUN!

Wednesday night, our family had a great evening at one of our favorite southern cookin' restaurants in the city ..Mary Mac's then we went to the Fox to see "Wicked!" It was a fabulous show for all ages! What a fun field trip for the family!! Our next outing will be a week long this month in sunny Mexico....oh, I'm counting the days:)
