He (my dear hubby)WON again. We have this discussion/debate/argument every year. We had it yesterday. He loves the entire experience of a real Christmas tree. Hot Cider, finding the perfect tree, tying it on the top of the Yukon, photos of the tree on top of the car, and awwwww the best part....the SMELL! and to top it all off, after Christmas, we can set it out for the trash company to pick it up!
I tried to tell him that we can have the same experience with a fake tree and we can even buy lots of yummy smelling candles that smell just like that tree!
He talked me out of it again. I'm excited now. We have to wait until after Thanksgiving though.
What's your pick? REAL or FAKE?

I pick the smell of the real tree, but the convenience of the fake tree......we have fake trees and Christmas scented Yankee candles....convenience usually wins out at our house. ;-)
Pre-lit fake is my pick, but I think it is awesome that Pete is so involved in the Christmas decorating process! :)
Stephen likes a fake one, so we have one of those. I like real, so he always surprises me by going out and picking a pretty one for me and brings it home. He likes all the colored lights, gaudy (I mean, varied) decorations; I have my own preference. We all get what we want. Isn't that what Christmas is all about? ;-)
Clearly, our pick is used-to-be-alive/petrified/fossilized. Hey, I have just the tree for you guys. It even smells (ask Brian).
Obviously, I vote for fake because I put my tree up sometime in...mid Sept. Well, not actually but it is a little early. We have to get a real one next year because Cody has never had one. You know he wants to chew on the minty needles!
We have the same dilemma EVERY year. We almost always end up with a real tree, which I love :)
I with Pastor Pete on this one..LOVE a REAL Christmas Tree~love the smell! Could go without the mess of pine needles...in the car, bringing it in the house, falling during it's rein, and the mess it makes out the door! But totally worth it!
Well we have the same discussion and my hubby has won every year....so we go with the fake one!
Maybe some day I'll convince him to be 'real'!
Growing up we had an "artificial" tree because mom hated the mess. Mike loves a real tree, so until last year, we always had a real tree. I got tired of buying new lights every year so when Dad offered us a nice prelit fake tree we took it. So for now, we use the fake, prelit with the yankee candles that smell like Christmas!
We have one fake for upstairs and one real for downstairs...Brooklyn LOVES going and picking out the tree with her Daddy! It makes great pics!
Mark and I have this "discussion" every year - last year was the 1st time we had a fake tree. I like fake with lots of great smelling candles and he wants a real one. We will see what happens this year!;)
Real!
There is nothing quite like the smells and memories that a REAL tree makes. :)
I'm a fake, prelit, almost open like an umbrella Christmas tree person. Oh well.
I missed your husband today at John Haeger's farewell reception.

FAKE!!!???
Real of course!
Speaking of tree's check out my blog and post from today!
I NEVER thought I would like a fake tree....most of them look fake!! I bought a great one 6 years ago...you can't tell...seriously!!! I burn lots of candles and I never have to vacuum up needles or try to get under the tree with water and all those presents:)
GOTTA do the real tree! Except Jarrett doesn't want us to since we'll be gone for 2 weeks over Christmas break! He's a Scrooge.
Fake!
My vote is for a real tree! I love searching for the perfect one and then enjoying the aroma of a live tree.
You know I'm all about the fake (wink, wink) - but when it comes to Christmas, cutting a real tree down is so festive and ALIVE.
That said, when you're married to a freak who wants his tree up on November 8th, you're kind of limited to FAKE.
(sigh)
FAKE!!!!
I pick fake..prelite of course...We have 8 trees every year with a different theme for each. I like being able to put them up and take down when I want to. Lots of candles and the house smells like they are real trees.
REAL - not even a question at my house!!
Love the smell of a real tree but I like a real looking prelit fake tree also because of convenience. We alternate. The past few years we have put up a real tree because I can't seem to find a fake one that I really like anymore....and that doesn't break the bank!
